About Our Hotel - FAQ

The building is a 17th century coaching inn that would have been a main stop on the London to Bristol route. Today, The Yard is a luxury boutique hotel with fifteen bedrooms housed around a central courtyard, including a relaxed coffee spot and wine bar too. 

The bedrooms have a muted colour palette, natural fabrics and textures with a mix of antique furniture to sit alongside new pieces. Each bedroom, we hope, feels like a calm and relaxed environment with a simple aesthetic focusing on classic beautiful features.

The hotel has a welcoming, relaxed wine bar which extends out into the private courtyard in the warmer months, which is open to both hotel residents and non-residents. 

The bar menu offers a selection of interesting and usual wines, cocktails and beers, alongside the classics. Bar nibbles, such as roasted nuts and olives are served as well as small plates of local cheese. Coffee, tea, cakes and fresh pastries are served throughout the day.

The hotel has a relaxed bar and coffee spot, fast WiFi and parking for a limited number of cars nearby. 

Each bedroom has a Nespresso coffee machine and kettle, Roberts Radio, fluffy towels, Bramley organic toiletries, Netflix and a fully stocked mini-bar with drinks and snacks, plus complimentary fresh milk.

The hotel offers a signature breakfast hamper which is delivered to your room each morning to offer the ultimate relaxing start to your day. Alternatively, guests can upgrade to a continental grazing breakfast which is served each morning between 8am-9.45am in the café.

All our rates are room only and do not include breakfast. If you would like breakfast, you can opt for our signature breakfast hamper for £8 per person where you can choose your favourite pastries, fruit, juices, yoghurt and granola to be delivered to your room each morning.

Drinks from our cafe and bar list can be ordered and delivered to your room throughout the day.

Rates for our rooms vary depending on the season and day of the week. You will find the current rates on our website via the Book Now link. The best rates will always be when you book directly with us, rather than a third party website.

Check in is from 3pm. Check out is 10am. A later check out can be arranged for a small additional fee and is subject to availability.

We run seasonal promotions from time to time. These can be found on our website and social media channels.

We have 6 parking spaces opposite the hotel for residents that can be reserved for £15 per night. Spaces are available to park in from 3pm on the day of check in until 10am on the day of check out. Please note that spaces are sold on a first-come-first-served basis.

Yes - guests can park in Charlotte Street Car Park (long stay) car park which is just a five minute walk from The Yard. The postcode is BA1 2NE.  

The hotel is also just a short walk or taxi ride from Bath Spa train station.

Yes, The Yard offers gift cards for accommodation in £50 increments that are valid for 12 months. They are a great idea as a gift for any special occasion and can be purchased via our website.

The cancellation policy varies depending on the rate you book. ‘Standard’ rates offer the most flexibility and these can be amended or cancelled without charge until seven days prior to check in date after which they become non-refundable and cannot be amended.  ‘Advance purchase’ rates are non-refundable/cannot be amended from the time of booking. No refund will be issued should you wish to cancel for any reason.

We sadly cannot allow pets in any of our bedrooms, however our bar is dog friendly.

The hotel is in a listed building and we are unable to install a lift. Our bedrooms are spread across four floors and you may be allocated to a room on a higher floor unless otherwise requested at the time of booking.

The Yard is a fully smoke-free premises. Smokers must do so outside the hotel on the street and please not in the courtyard.

All of our bedrooms accommodate two people maximum. We do not have any bedrooms that can accommodate an extra bed. 

Certain rooms can accommodate a travel cot for infants under two, subject to availability. Total number of occupants must be declared at the time of booking.

We do not accept bookings of groups over four rooms.
