Things to do in Bath in the Summer 2024
Bath is beautiful year round, but, as with most things, it’s especially gorgeous in the summer. The early morning and evening golden hour sunshine makes the light Bath limestone glow.
Whether you come for a weekend or a midweek escape, here’s a guide to our favourite spots for the summer 2024 months.
First stop: Alexandra Park.
This park offers the most incredible panoramic views of the city centre, including the iconic Crescent, Circus, and Milsom Street. It’s a short steep climb, but trust us, the view is more than worth it. Bonus: If you visit between Friday and Sunday, you can grab a coffee and pastry from the amazing ChouxBox Patisserie van parked there – delicious! https://beta.bathnes.gov.uk/visit-alexandra-park
Next up: Cleveland Pools.
This historic lido, dating back to the 1920s, has been recently restored and is now a must-visit for any swimming enthusiast. The centrepiece of the lido is, of course, the swimming pool. Fed by the River Avon, the water is cool (sometimes chilly!) and naturally filtered. Beyond the swimming experience, Cleveland Pools is a lovely spot for coffee, reading on their loungers or grab a spot on the grassy areas to enjoy a picnic. The lido also hosts various events throughout the summer, from open-air movie nights to live music performances
And finally..
For a relaxed brunch experience check out the Green Bird Café, which was crowned Bath’s Best Breakfast at the prestigious Bath Good Food Awards 2017. This charming café sits on a picturesque pedestrian street between the Royal Crescent and the Circus; perfect for people-watching and enjoying the summer atmosphere. From classic options like perfectly poached eggs and toast to modern twists like smashed avocado with feta and chilli flakes, all with great coffee.
These are just a few ideas to get you started on your summer adventure in Bath. With its stunning architecture and rich history, Bath has something to offer everyone.
